Small markets, big opportunities
Transforming dental-patient relationships across generations.
Aprio investigated prospective practice ownership and opportunities for success in small market dental practices. In 2023, the U.S. Census Bureau projected that about 4.4 million people will turn 65 this year — calling 2024 the “Peak 65,” which is the traditional retirement age. A decrease in practicing dentists is also expected as baby boomers slowly start their retirement. This presents the opportunity for many younger, or newly aspiring dental associates to make their mark as a practice owner, and possibly even the primary dental provider for a non-urban market.
Depending on their goals, dentists have the potential to thrive financially and professionally by practicing in more rural or suburban markets. In this eBook, we discuss benefits, challenges, and strategies to owning a small-market dental practice.
