Who I work with
I advise small businesses and their owners, with a concentration in the professional services sector, from start-ups to businesses with about $20 million in gross revenues. The business owners I work with have an entrepreneurial spirit, striving to grow their businesses through deliberate actions and well-thought-out plans. I also help those who are experiencing difficulties resolving federal tax issues.

I specialize in individual income tax, flow-through entity tax and federal tax controversy.
Results I have delivered
- Turned a $5 million trust fund recovery penalty assessment into a $10K settlement.
- Defended a client with a $3.5 million income tax increase on audit. He had no records to speak of, and I reduced the IRS’ proposed tax increase to zero.
- Negotiated a $450K back- tax liability down to $5K.
- Saved a client $6 million of income tax on the sale of his business through astute and proactive planning and negotiations.
Unique things about me
While living overseas, I saved a construction worker from electrocution. That got me interested in electricity, and I studied to become an electrician, volunteering my time to help lower-income households fix electrical safety hazards.
When I am not at work
I am very much an outdoors person. Biking and swimming are my portals to getting in the “zone,” where I can escape from day-to-day stresses. I am an amateur gardener, growing super-hot peppers that neither I nor my family can eat but love sharing with friends. I am big on DIY projects and have tackled nearly every type of home improvement imaginable.
