
Overview
John is Aprio’s National Tax Director of the Professional Practice Group. He has extensive experience interpreting complex tax regulations and structures to maximize client understanding and manage risk. In his role, John works closely with the firm’s tax team to continuously advance Aprio’s tax knowledge base and resources to ensure the quality of tax deliverables and client service.
Experience
His experience includes technical tax consulting, tax conflict resolution, and compliance services to multinational businesses, individual taxpayers, and tiered partnership structures. John conducts advanced tax research and constantly monitors tax guidance to address both clients’ and team members’ tax questions. In addition, he provides guidance on creating structures to limit and defer tax liabilities, including the use of offshore operations, and helps clients understand the impact that emerging tax codes will have on their business and personal finances.
Education & Affiliations
John earned his Master’s in Accounting from the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) of Law from Cleveland State University College of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marquette University and was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha.
