Who I work with

I advise businesses in all industries, from startup through exit. If you are conducting multistate operations or looking to expand into new states, I work frequently with CFOs, controllers and tax directors to help them navigate the complex state and local tax (SALT) landscape. If you have SALT questions, let’s talk.

My specialty

I help clients maximize the value of their businesses through practical strategies to minimize state tax risks, and increase their profitability and cash flow with state tax credits and incentives. My value-added services include:

  • Conducting sales/use tax and income/franchise tax nexus reviews
  • Recommending and implementing strategies for minimizing multistate tax exposures
  • Consulting on the state and local tax implications of business operations and transactions
  • Performing M&A SALT due diligence and structuring transactions to maximize return on investment
  • Identify opportunities to save taxes and get cash back with tax credits and incentives

Results I have delivered

Since graduating law school in 1999, I have practiced exclusively in the SALT area. I lead a team of experienced SALT experts that consistently deliver tangible results for domestic and international companies conducting business across the United States.

Unique things about me

I serve on the board of directors for Creating Connected Communities, a local nonprofit that brings life-enhancing programs to children in need by empowering teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers.

When I am not at work

As an avid sports fan, I root for my hometown New York sports teams (not the ones that win). I enjoy reading fictional spy/thriller novels as well as books and articles on personal finance.

People say I am

I make complex tax issues easier to understand so that my clients can make informed business decisions.
