Who I work with
I collaborate with Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Finance Directors, Heads of Tax and Treasury Officers to build better global governance with an emphasis on tax and regulatory compliance and reporting. I work with public and private companies, including closely-held businesses and start-ups, in the blockchain and digital assets, technology, finance, renewable energy, financial services or life sciences industries that range in size from $1 million to over $100 billion in assets.
My specialty
With extensive experience in ASC 740/IAS 12, income taxes, business taxation, tax structuring and controversy, I help pre-IPO companies and start-ups optimize their structures and tax controls with applicable tax advisory, financial reporting and strategic planning. I work closely with various business advisers, including attorneys, investment bankers and C-suite leaders, I apply innovative thinking and a deep understanding of the tax environment to help manage tax risk and identify tax opportunities.
Results I have delivered
After only working with a new client for a period of several weeks, I helped implement two accounting method changes, which reduced taxable income from over $2 million to a net operating loss.
Unique things about me
Tax often tends to be reactive vs. proactive. I love having conversations with business leaders to help them proactively institute proper tax controls that help turn risk into opportunity. I truly believe life is a university and the path to success is paved with learning from your peers, clients and other stakeholders. Having an open mind to others’ opinions and viewpoints yields the best solutions.
When I am not at work
You can find me volunteering or fundraising for the Humane Society, being a foster parent for a dog in need, or biking Northern California trails. I enjoy reading, learning and exploring the American Southwest.
People say I am
Innovative, optimistic and passionate about client service.
