Cory Cook, CPA
Tax Partner, International
Aprio Advisory Group, LLC
Who I work with
I focus primarily on Latin American clients and small to midsize businesses with big international components that are migrating to the US or working to integrate into the US tax system. Many of my clients live abroad and have preexisting US investments/activities. Some have family in America, others are a mix of American and non-resident taxpayers.
My specialty
I specialize in pre-immigration tax planning, corporate tax structuring and normal tax compliance.
Results I have delivered
I save my clients an average of 20% on their taxes by restructuring their domestic and international components to be more tax efficient and avoid double taxation. I also help many businesses avoid $35,000 tax penalties by making sure they file their 5472 or 5471 forms correctly.
Unique things about me
I love to travel with my wife and three daughters. We went to Colorado recently, but we frequently go to destinations in Latin America.
When I am not at work
When I’m not at work I love to travel and play golf.
People say I am
A Venezuelan-born professional with a deep understanding of the dynamics of the transition from Latin America to the US.
