National Dental Practice | Accounting Manager | Provides tax solutions that support profitable growth
Aprio Advisory Group, LLC
Who I work with
I work with new and established dental practice owners to improve the efficiency and accuracy of their accounting practices and provide tax solutions that support profitable growth. Many of my clients are doctors looking for answers about whether they can afford to hire a new associate or purchase a piece of equipment, and for an explanation about why they must pay sales tax!
My specialty
Dentists, doctors and practice owners go into their respective fields to treat patients, not analyze payroll statistics and sales tax compliance. I, on the other hand, love these things! A problem solver at heart, I advise new practice owners on how to set up their accounting practices to ensure accuracy while spurring growth. As a former theatre major, I am passionate about providing effective, engaging training on accounting and payroll platforms.
Results I have delivered
Although my theatre background is quite different from day-to-day accounting, it helps me identify solutions that might otherwise have been overlooked. During state sales tax audits, I’ve collaborated with clients to prepare and provide supporting documents to state auditors, resulting in the removal of approximately $10,000 in audit findings per client. These removals translate directly into reductions in the bills dentists receive from states.
Unique things about me
I’m a team player who is patient, willing to listen and always eager to share my depth of technical knowledge in easy-to-understand terms. I’m a stickler for excellence in everything I do and love diving deep into research to provide thoughtful, understandable answers to questions dentists have about their accounting practices. I love seeing my clients succeed and will lend my insight and experience to help them achieve what’s next.
When I am not at work
I’m on my way to a new state. My husband and I are on a mission to visit all 50 of them in the next 14 years and enjoy an attraction in each one. Along the way, I make time to taste coffee, read mystery novels, cook and savor paranormal stories. In my pre-accounting life, I was a technical theatre major and participated in a variety of professional theatre productions.
People say I am
A good storyteller, patient listener, exceptional communicator and creative thinker with a keen eye for details and budget-conscious solutions.
Affiliations
I am an alumnus of Elizabeth City State University and hold degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I’m also a licensed CPA in North Carolina. My background in technical theatre helps me think creatively, work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
