Lexy Kessler Highlights Strategic Solutions for Accounting Talent Shortage in New Report

Aug. 8, 2024 – Lexy Kessler, mid-Atlantic regional leader at Aprio and chair of the National Pipeline Advisory Group (NPAG), was highlighted in a Journal of Accountancy’s article on the recent Accounting Talent Strategy Report published on July 31, 2024. Lexy underscored the necessity of a unified, data-driven approach to address the accounting talent shortage. The report, developed by a 22-member group over the past year, emphasizes six key strategies, including enhancing educational experiences, expanding support for CPA Exam candidates, and improving the profession’s appeal to underrepresented groups.
Lexy stressed that implementing these solutions requires collaboration among all major accounting bodies and transparency in progress. The report calls for continuous dialogue and data-sharing to drive effective changes and maintain accountability.
